Lebanon is located in western New Hampshire, south of Hanover, and near the Connecticut River. Lebanon is home to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Medical School. it has been described as the quintessential New England town because it is pretty and has many key institutions clustered around the town green. It has a vibrant business community; medical facilities associated with nearby Dartmouth are the largest employers in town. Recreation on the river and nearby mountains are terrific. The population was a little over 13,500 in 2019. Livability.com named it the best small town in America in 2015.
